Why we may decline a case
We do not take on every enquiry. This document explains why and when we may decline.
Unlawful tasks
We decline any requests involving illegal or corrupt methods.
Unrealistic expectations
If someone expects guarantees that cannot be given honestly, we decline rather than mislead.
Conflict of interest
We do not take on a matter where a conflict of interest exists.
Insufficient information
Sometimes a proper assessment is impossible without basic facts a person is unwilling to provide.
The right to decline
Declining is part of honest work: it protects both the client and the quality of practice.
